BUSINESS IMMERSION PROGRAM
Operating and succeeding in business today requires a strong global understanding of economics and interpersonal skills for multi-ethnic workplaces. The Business Immersion Program offers a unique international cross-cultural experience learning about Costa Rica’s economy and culture. Students are engaged in roundtable discussions with community business leaders and professional experts, participate in internships, and explore the diverse natural environment of Costa Rica.
Activities Include:
- Small Business and Cooperatives - tour and discussion of local organic coffee and hydroponic lettuce businesses
- Costa Rican Government - visit Congress
- National Culture Museum and National Theater
- Roundtable discussions with professional experts in topics of:
- Commercial law
- CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement)
- Banking
- Sustainable development
- Current financial crisis effect on Costa Rican economy, air-shares
- Tourism
- Volcano Poas - discuss effects of natural disasters on tourism
- 100 year-old goldmine with waterfalls
- Pacific Coast Beach - Esterillos Oeste. Observe scarlet macaw habitat and crocodiles on the Tarcoles River
